Your Coach’s Story and Her Passion
Welcome! I am your ISSA Running Coach Certified trainer Savannah! I am a GRIT athlete and Fitletic Ambassador who truly is, a running enthusiast.
I have been an athlete my whole life, whether it was field hockey, track and field, dancing around, roller blading, picking up some weights, or hitting the yoga mat. Being active has always been a part of who I am, but it turned into one of the most grounding pieces of my identity. I fell into the endurance sport of running in 2018, when looking for something to further fulfill my life. What started as an every few days hobby, quickly turned into 5 miles, 10 miles, 15 miles, 26.2, all the way to Ultras, (would you believe me if I told you I used to hate anything over a mile?!), and ultimately, a passion, a lifestyle, and a purpose.
Personally, I have been running everyday without missing a beat, since 12/25/20, inspired by Hellah Sidibe, the man who ran across America and has been running everyday for over five years. So take in my truth when I say I LOVE RUNNING and am here to spread that love. The passion for lacing up my shoes, hitting the road, track, trails, or treadmill, feeling the sweat run off my body with a perpetual smile. The lifestyle with a routine everyday whether it be following a rigid plan, or simply getting up and running for some reprieve. The purpose in taking my enjoyment, experience, and qualifications to work with YOU on how to feel your best. Whether its to maintain / gain a healthy lifestyle, feel secure within yourself, face your first race, or PR in your next race, I am here to individually help you achieve your goals.
I have experienced the ups and downs of being an athlete and learned how it impacts your physical and mental health. Dedication to a sport, recreational or competitive, is no small feat. You face injuries, early mornings, late nights, frustration with yourself and the elements, sometimes a lack of motivation, and any life circumstance that may feel as if it is sucking out the joy of what you want to succeed at and enjoy. But those tend to be the smaller aspects of running, and really, any sport. The successes, the joy, the discipline, the PRs, the changes in your mental, emotional, physical, and overall health, will ALWAYS outweigh any moment of negativity you face. But, it helps to have someone by your side while you take on new challenges and navigate any physical journey you’re on. Figuring out yourself, your fitness levels, your nutrition, and HOW to improve and balance those things can be an exhilarating part of the process.
Outside of my passion for running, I am passionate about bringing happiness and well-being to those around me. Coming from a Psychology and Human Service based background, it has been a lifetime goal to lead people to feeling their best, and living a life that feels full. By combining my passion for running and my empathetic heart, I strive to create an environment that fulfills others.
