SMBRunning Philosophy

I like to think SMBRunning has a unique twist on coaching as it works with not only the athlete physically, but the person as a whole. Encompassing mind, body, and soul with a coach who holds a Run Coach Certification through ISSA, unwavering passion for the sport, and a Masters in Psychology. My philosophy involves valuing, understanding, and meeting your physical, emotional and psychological needs while reaching your goals. Whether you’re here as a first time runner, for recreation, or to hit a PR in your next race, I’m here to construct a plan that works for you. I believe in transparency, honest feedback, and working as a team to get you where you want to be. At SMBRunning, athletes of all abilities, backgrounds, and identities are welcome.

The Benefits of Choosing SMBRunning

Time: Eliminate the hours spent planning your training and gain more time to focus on the joy of running!

Motivation & Accountability: Report back to your coach at the end of each week or after each workout to stay focused, on track, and to discuss the ups & downs

Perspective: Get your coach’s assessment of your training so that you don’t risk injury or burn out too early. SMBRunning places great emphasis on training SMART

Expertise: Work with a certified run coach with lived experience of training and competing. Many of the things you will face, they will be able to empathize with you on!

Internal Game: Cultivate mental and emotional strength by addressing what’s going on in your mind and heart to help empower you as an athlete

Attention to Detail: Your coach takes care of the small pieces that go into constructing each workout that help improve your overall athletic performance and abilities (I.e., drills, strength training, stretching, nutrition, and more)

A Personal Touch: SMBRunning is run by a sole athlete who is committed to YOU and YOUR performance. This makes the initial client pool small as Coach Savannah dedicates her time to a specific amount of athletes
